Foursquare may use Artificial Intelligence (AI) or Automated Decision Systems (ADS) to assist in certain employment-related processes, such as recruitment and hiring. These tools are intended to support decision-making, not replace human judgment.
What this Means for You
Foursquare uses Ashby, a hiring platform with artificial intelligence and other automated features, as part of our hiring process. These tools are used to support recruiting and hiring activities, including applicant tracking, screening and evaluating applications, and supporting parts of the interview process, including transcription and note taking.
These tools are intended to support Foursquare’s recruiting personnel, not replace human judgment. Human oversight remains essential at each stage of the hiring process, and all final hiring decisions are made by Foursquare employees. AI tools do not make final hiring decisions, and any employment decision involving these tools is subject to human review before a final decision is made.
How AI May Be Used
As part of the hiring process, Foursquare may provide Ashby with job requirements and candidate-submitted application materials. Ashby’s features may help evaluate job-related information such as professional experience, skills, education, certifications, interview responses, job-related communications, and other qualifications Foursquare deems relevant to the position.
Foursquare does not use Ashby to assess candidates based on protected characteristics such as race, color, religion, national origin, sex, age, disability, marital status, pregnancy, sexual orientation, or any other category protected by law.
Employment Decisions Supported by These Tools
Ashby may be used to support recruiting, applicant screening and candidate evaluation based on Foursquare’s requirements and preferred qualifications, interview coordination, note taking, and other hiring-related processes. These tools may assist Foursquare in organizing, reviewing, or prioritizing information, but they do not make final employment decisions.
System Information
The AI and automated features described in this notice are provided through Ashby, Foursquare’s hiring platform. Additional information about Ashby is available on Ashby’s website.
For positions in New York City, certain features of Ashby may qualify as an Automated Employment Decision Tool under New York City Local Law 144 and may also be subject to other applicable laws governing automated tools in hiring. Foursquare has used these features since June 1, 2026. You can review Ashby’s most recent independent bias audit report here.
Appeals, Corrections, Alternative Process, and Accommodations
Applicants and employees may contact Foursquare to request correction of information used in the hiring process, appeal a decision, request an alternative selection process, or request a reasonable accommodation related to Foursquare’s use of AI or automated tools in employment decisions.
